The Team
Based in Belgravia and comprising a team of 15, the studio is headed up by Joanna herself. The company became a family affair nearly 4 years ago, when the team was joined by Joanna’s youngest daughter, Hattie Hansard.
The Interior Design practice is complemented by an Interiors Shop on Elizabeth Street and our sister brand, Lewis & Wood, which supplies fabrics & wallpapers.

Joanna Wood
Joanna Wood established her eponymous design studio over 40 years ago, and it has since evolved into an internationally renowned practice, celebrated for its exceptional work on both contemporary and historic projects.
With an expansive portfolio, Joanna’s breadth of experience also extends to the restoration and renovation of a variety of public and private buildings. Her collaborations include prestigious institutions such as English Heritage, The National Trust, and Historic Houses, showcasing her foundational principle of preserving architectural heritage.
A Fellow of both the British Institute of Interior Designers (BIID) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Joanna’s career is distinguished by numerous accolades, including the BIID Award of Merit in 2021, the Institute's highest honour, underscoring her leadership and lasting impact on the design industry.
